An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced Legal Assistant to join our busy Residential Conveyancing Department.
This role will provide direct support to the fee earner within the Residential Conveyancing Department.
Responsible for:
- Opening and closing files on the firms’ case management system.
- Updating clients, solicitors and estate agents where necessary via telephone and emails on a daily basis.
- Taking clients instruction, obtaining source of funds and checking ID
- Preparing draft documents and issuing sales contracts
- Requesting mortgage redemption figures
- Drafting transfer deeds
- Replying to sales enquiries
- Ordering searches.
- Dealing with exchange of contracts on sales and purchases
- Undertaking pre completion searches
- Dealing with the submission of the LTT/SDLT tax return.
- Dealing with post completion.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience as a conveyancing assistant for this role is essential.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Able to work well within a small team
- Able to prioritise workloads
- Have good attention to detail.
- Able to use Microsoft Office packages and have good typing skills.
- Organised, efficient and versatile.

Salary and benefits:
The position is offered on a Full-Time basis however Part-Time would be considered.
- Salary negotiable dependant upon experience.
- 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
