In this month’s TSR Legal Meets, we spoke to Leanne Evans, Director, Solicitor & Head of Wills & Probate at Evans & Greaves Solicitors as the Caerphilly-based law firm celebrates its 30th anniversary.
Q: What has been Evans & Greaves 2024 highlight to date
A: This year is a very special year for us as it marks the 30th anniversary of our firm being established. We are proud to have been serving the people of Caerphilly and surrounding areas for so long.
A lot has changed in that time and we have adapted to new technologies, new client challenges and new market circumstances. However, at our heart we are a client-centric firm and that hasn’t changed at all.
Q: How does Evans & Greaves stand out from the crowd?
A: A few years ago, we spent some time reviewing our brand and what makes us stand out. We reflected on the customer feedback we had been getting over the years and were pleased that for many, we are not just a firm of solicitors addressing legal matters but a helping hand when you need it. As a result, we relaunched the firm with our ‘Helping hand’ branding in 2020.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working at Evans & Greaves?
A: I love problem solving and building relationships with clients. Every client is different, so every piece of advice needs to be tailored carefully to their specific circumstances and needs. As a result, many of our clients have been with us for a very long time and nothing pleases me more than bumping into a family or an individual that I’ve know for years and hearing how they are getting on.
Q: What advice would you give to aspiring young lawyers?
A: Be passionate! Be curious! Enjoy what you do.
Q: What are you doing to create an inclusive workplace?
A: Although we are a small firm, inclusivity is very important to us. Our modus operandi is to be employee-led and we use the SRA and SQM processes and policies to guide our approach to recruitment and employment. We also take pleasure in participating in community inclusivity events such as Pride Caerphilly.
Q: What can we expect to see from Evans & Greaves for the remainder of 2024?
A: As a very busy firm we expect most of our time to be devoted to helping clients and building relationships but as we are still enjoying our 30th anniversary, we are hoping to have a little more celebration before the turn of the year!
